Rank Container Terminals (RCT) operates a 14 acre dry port near the Colombo harbour. Under the current arrangement with the Sri Lanka Customs Authority, RCT Inspects and Verifies 100% of the Green Channel Cargo in Sri Lanka.
Rank Container Terminals is located in close proximity to the Colombo port and houses government authorities like Customs, BOI, Sri Lanka Standard Institution, Quarantine and several banks in line with the concept of Inland Container Freight Station.
RCT has the facility to handle 50 containers at any given time and a daily maximum capacity of 300 containers. It consists of over 10,000 sqft ultra-modern office space, 40,000 sqft warehouse space, 3 weigh bridge machines, container scanning machines, plugging facilities for reefer containers and 24 hour ancillary and security services.
A direct railway track connects Rank Container Terminals with the Colombo Port. Upon utilization, this will reduce traffic congestion in Colombo and significantly improve Sri Lanka’s container transportation services.
