Mr. Ravi Wijeratne

Chairman

Mr. Ravi Wijeratne completed his tertiary and secondary education at Royal College, Colombo and pursued his higher education at the London School of Accountancy in the United Kingdom. He remained in the United Kingdom for 17 years following his education and embarked on various entrepreneurial property development ventures in the UK.

Mr. Wijeratne co-founded the Grayline Group in 1987 which owned and managed the largest fleet of public buses in Sri Lanka at that time. He then entered the Sri Lankan entertainment market purchasing Stardust Casino in 1993 and went on to establish Casino Marina in 2013, the largest Casino in Sri Lanka. Seeing the rapid development of the African continent, Mr. Wijeratne expanded the entertainment operation to Africa, starting the first Cassino Marina in Beira, Mozambique. Today Rank Entertainment Holdings owns and operates 9 casinos in 6 African countries.

Mr. Wijeratne also went on to expand Rank Holdings to various industries like dry-land ports, hospitality, pharmaceuticals, construction, agri-business and energy.

Mr. Wijeratne, a known risk taker, purchased 64% of SMB Leasing in 2021; one of the leading leasing companies in Sri Lanka, which puts him in the driving seat of the business. Mr. Ravi Wijeratne remains keeping a keen eye for future opportunities in Sri Lanka and the region

Sachin Wijeratne studied at Harrow School, London and went on to complete his Bachelor’s in law at the University of Leeds. He started his career at Mishcon de reya law firm, London and currently holds the position of executive director, Rank Holdings.

Shahen Wijeratne had his primary and secondary education at Merchant Taylors’ School, London and went on to complete his Master’s in Civil Engineering with Project Management at the University of Leeds. Mr. Wijeratne currently holds the position of executive director, Rank Holdings. He takes an active role in Senura Civil Engineering (PVT) Limited, the civil engineering arm of Rank Holdings. Senura Civil Engineering focuses on infrastructure projects.
